History
Although apricot liqueur is prominent, dry vermouth, dry gin, lemon juice, and dilution prevent excessive sweetness.
This drink is adapted from Harry Craddock's 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book. The Fairbanks Cocktail (No.1) consists of 1/3 Dry Gin, 1/3 French Vermouth, 1/3 Apricot Brandy, 1 Dash Lemon Juice, and 1 Dash Grenadine. It is prepared by shaking well and straining into a cocktail glass with a cherry.
