History
Gin provides a zesty citrus base, freshened by subtle mint, while aromatic bitters add depth and complexity.
Harry Craddock's The Savoy Cocktail Book includes a recipe for this drink. FALLEN ANGEL COCKTAIL. 1 Dash Angostura Bitters. 2 Dashes Crème de Menthe. The Juice of 1 Lemon or ½ Lime. 1 Glass Dry Gin. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. The exact intention behind the drink's name, whether it serves as encouragement or consolation for an angel's fall, remains unclear.
