History
Grassy, spirituous agricole rhum mellows with fruity pineapple, sweet herbal liqueur and vinous herbal vermouth.
This recipe is adapted from a version discovered in March 2018 at Merchant House in Bow Lane, London, England. The preparation involves 30ml Agricole rhum, 60ml Lillet Blanc, 15ml Yellow Chartreuse, and 10ml pineapple syrup, served in a small stemmed wine glass with a single, pebble-shaped sliver of ice. The name references Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821). The accompanying text on the Merchant House's menu stated: "After rising to the rank of General at the young age of 24, Napoleon later arranged a coup, placing himself as the first Emperor of France. His skill in command led to numerous years of French dominance in Europe and further afield, and his reforms continue to influence our society today."
