History

An Old Fashioned-style cocktail featuring pear and walnut liqueurs, plus a touch of peated malt whisky.

This recipe is adapted from one created in 2009 by Ian Scalzo at Bourbon & Branch bar in San Francisco, USA. It is named after the American architect who designed over 1,000 structures in a 70-year career. His philosophy of "organic architecture" influenced architects globally, emphasizing harmony between people and their environment. His renowned work, Fallingwater in Pennsylvania, built in 1935 over a waterfall, served as a weekend home for Edgar J. Kaufmann, owner of Pittsburgh's Kaufmann's Department Store. The site is now a National Historic Landmark.
