History
Raspberry notes hit first, followed by Chartreuse sherry. Fruity, spirit-forward, and complex.
The Glee Club Cocktail was first documented in Tim Daly's 1903 publication, Daly's Bartenders' Encyclopedia, with the original recipe calling for "2 dashes of orange bitters, 1 dash of yellow Chartreuse, 1 dash of maraschino, 1 wine glass of raspberry wine." This adapted version, created by Jack McGarry at New York's Dead Rabbit, substitutes framboise eau-de-vie for the raspberry wine.
