History
Fruity and slightly sweet, this is a Screwdriver with added peach schnapps. Rolling or throwing is preferred over shaking, which thins the drink.
The Fuzzy Navel, a mixture of peach schnapps and orange juice, was named by an advertising agency in 1984 to support the US introduction of De Kuyper Original Peachtree. 'Fuzzy' refers to the peach schnapps, and 'navel' to the orange juice. With the growing popularity of vodka, which saw Absolut's launch in 1980, vodka was added to create a 'Hairy' Navel. The addition of cranberry juice subsequently led to the creation of the Pierced Navel cocktail.
