1 1/2 oz Vodka
2 oz Cranberry juice
1/4 oz Lime juice

History

Light in flavour and alcohol. Add triple sec to approach a Cosmopolitan.

Considered a potential precursor to the Cosmopolitan, the Harpoon was listed as a "new cocktail" on a 1968 Ocean Spray label. Initially, it was recommended as 2 ounces Ocean Spray cranberry juice with 1 ounce vodka or light rum, served "over the rocks or tall with soda. Suggested garnish: a splash of lime or lemon optional." By 1970, gin was also included as an acceptable base spirit.
