History

Sweet dried apricot balanced by vermouth and bitters. Complex.

The recipe originates from a handwritten note for an "Intimate" cocktail found within the author's copy of Mark Torre's 1984 book, The Bartender's Cherry, 2nd Edition. Numerous annotations were made in this, the author's first cocktail book, during 1991, the year after acquiring a liquor store and developing an interest in cocktails. Unfortunately, the source of the "Intimate" recipe was not recorded, only the recipe itself, indicating the cocktail predates 1991. These notes, alongside recipes from the book, formed the foundation for the database powering this website. Like many other recipes, this one has undergone numerous adjustments over the decades.
