Ingredients

2 slice Cucumber (fresh)
2 oz Irish whiskey
1/2 oz Elderflower liqueur
2/3 oz Lemon juice
1/3 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of cucumber slice.

Method

  1. 3 MUDDLE cucumber in base of shaker. (Ideally, cut skin from the cucumber log before chopping).
  2. 4 Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice.
  3. 5 STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

  1. 6 Garnish with cucumber slice.

History

Irish whiskey and elderflower meet fresh, zesty cucumber and lemon.

This cocktail is an adaptation from a recipe created by Jack McGarry at The Dead Rabbit, New York City, USA. It is an Irish-whiskey-based variation on Sam Ross's Kentucky Maid, which is regarded as a contemporary classic.
