3/4 oz Light white rum
3/4 oz Light gold rum 1-3yo
1/2 oz Bénédictine D.O.M.
1/2 oz Rosso/sweet vermouth
1/4 oz Lemon juice
1/3 oz Chilled water

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

From Stanley M. Jones' 1977 Jones' Complete Barguide comes the IRRESISTIBLE. This cocktail is shaken and served in a cocktail glass, with a recipe calling for 1-1/2 oz rum, 1/2 oz sweet vermouth, 1/4 oz lemon juice, and 1/4 oz Benedictine. A note suggests substituting 1/4 oz apricot flavored brandy for the Benedictine.
