Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Rye whiskey 50% abv
1/2 oz Maraschino liqueur
1/3 oz Lemon juice
1/6 oz Chilled water
3 drop Saline solution 4:1

How to make

Serve in a nick & nora glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a NICK & NORA GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of skewered Luxardo Maraschino Cherries and mint sprigs.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 Garnish with skewered cherry and mint sprigs bouquet.

History

This rye whiskey and maraschino sour was reduced by a third to nestle in a Nick & Nora glass.

This cocktail is adapted from a 2011 creation by Sierra Zimei, the cocktail director at Seasons Bar and Lounge in the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco, USA. Gary "gaz" Regan's 101 Best New Cocktails of 2011 included this drink, which helped boost its recognition. The initial preparation used 60ml rye whiskey, 22.5ml maraschino liqueur, and 15ml lemon juice.
