History
A Martini-style drink where gin's botanicals are swapped for Greek grape distillate (Tsipouro). Vinous notes and acidity are enhanced by dry white wine (Dafni, Assyrtiko, or Sauvignon Blanc). A touch of honey (preferably Greek orange blossom) adds balancing richness.
Due to its use of a grape spirit and white wine, this Martini-like cocktail was initially going to be called a Greek White Martini. However, it was discovered that "Lefkó" is the Greek word for white. This name is also fitting as it is a synonym for white Greek grape varieties used in winemaking.
