History

A rum and ginger ale Highball, with the Lincoln Club Cooler having more appeal.

George J. Kappeler's 1895 book, Modern American Drinks, includes a recipe for this cocktail. Kappeler specified St. Croix rum in his original version. Lincoln Club Cooler. Place a lump of ice in a tall, slender Collins glass. Add one pony of St. Croix rum, then top with a cold bottle of imported ginger ale. Serve.
