History
A gin sour with fino sherry adding distinctive, almost salty, celery notes. Orange bitters and grapefruit zest twist contribute to balance.
This drink is adapted from a 2002 recipe by Chris Jepson at London's Milk & Honey. It was initially created for a competition held by Drinks International Magazine and has since become a widely replicated modern classic, influencing variations like the Banana Calling. A distinct stirred cocktail called London Calling was also found in 2003 at the Oxo Tower Bar & Brasserie in London. That version contained 50ml dry gin, 31.25ml sloe gin, 12.5ml sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.
