History
Bittersweet herbal and citrus notes influence this Manhattan-style aperitivo riff.
The Manhattan cocktail is thought to have been invented in the 1870s at the Manhattan Club in New York City. The club's owner, Frank Densmore, commissioned the drink to honor a candidate for president. The first mention of the Manhattan appears in a newspaper article from 1876, published in The New York World. The drink quickly gained popularity and became a staple in bars across the United States.
