Ingredients
1 slice Fresh ginger
2 oz Light white rum
1/6 oz Rioja wine
1/2 oz Lime juice
1/4 oz Grenadine syrup
How to make
Serve in a coupe glass
- 1 MUDDLE ginger in base of shaker
- 2 Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
History
A pink daiquiri with ginger spice, sweet pomegranate and Rioja wine.
John O'Reilly created this drink in 2010 at the Apartment, Belfast, Northern Ireland. This adaptation of the classic Daiquiri was inspired by the founder of Bacardi rum and his journey from Spain to Cuba. The Rioja represents Don Facundo's Spanish homeland, the pomegranate symbolizes the journey as it was taken by the Spanish to the New World, and the ginger represents the heat and spice of the Caribbean.
