History
Scotch, pear, and apple combine in this fruity, balanced cocktail. Pear juice replaces apple juice for a richer, tastier drink.
Jamie Terrell created this recipe in 2003 at Dick's Bar at the Atlantic Bar & Grill in London, England. The Atlantic Bar & Grill, which opened in 1994, is recognized as a significant origin point for the cocktail renaissance, particularly Dick's Bar. The preparation involves shaking and straining into an ice-filled Collins glass 60ml (2oz) of Scotch whisky, 30ml (1oz) of Pear & Cognac liqueur, 90ml (3oz) of Apple juice, 15ml (½oz) of Lime juice, and 7.5ml (¼oz) of Vanilla syrup. A "Deluxe Version" is prepared by shaking and straining into a chilled Martini glass with the pulp of 1 fresh Passion fruit, 45ml (1½oz) Scotch whisky, 30ml (1oz) Pear & cognac liqueur, 30ml (1oz) Apple juice, 30ml (1oz) Pear juice, and 7.5ml (¼oz) Lime juice.
