History
This Colada contains no coconut, but is smooth, balanced and tasty.
This drink, essentially a Daiquiri with pineapple flavor, traces its origins to a piece published in the December 1922 edition of Travel Magazine. This is the earliest known written mention of a Piña Colada, and it describes what is now understood as a 'Cuban Style Piña Colada' – one that does not include coconut.
