Ingredients

2 oz Blanco tequila
1/2 oz Lime juice
1/4 oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Grenadine syrup
1/4 oz Orgeat syrup
1/2 oz Egg white (pasteurised)

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lime wedge.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice and strain back into shaker.
  2. 4 DRY SHAKE (without ice).
  3. 5 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

  1. 6 Garnish with lime wedge.

History

This pink and fluffy Margarita-like drink is sweetened and coloured with pomegranate syrup, replacing triple sec, and given a foamy head with egg white.

Created in 2010 by Dick Bradsell at The Pink Chihuahua, located within El Camion in London, England. This drink, a small pink concoction, is named after the Chihuahua breed, the smallest dog breed, and also after the Mexican state. The front entrance of El Camion features a pink Chihuahua painted by an artist.
