Easy to layer but difficult to drink. Very sweet.
The name of this drink is inspired by the red and green navigation lights on a ship, which mark the 'Port' (left) and 'Starboard' (right) sides. The red light is termed the Port side due to its association with port wine's color. The original term for the opposite side was Larboard, which over time evolved into Starboard.
