History
A vintage cocktail befitting a toast to the longest reigning, most respected, and greatest ever monarch of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. HM Queen Elizabeth II, thanks for your service.
This cocktail is adapted from a recipe found in Stanley M. Jones' 1977 book, Jones' Complete Barguide. The Queen Elizabeth is listed for a cocktail glass and is prepared with a stir. The ingredients are 1-3/4 oz gin, 1/2 oz dry vermouth, and 1/4 oz Benedictine. A variation is also provided: 1-3/4 oz gin, 1/4 oz Cointreau, 1/4 oz lemon juice, and 1/4 oz Pernod. Another variation uses 1-1/4 oz brandy, 1 oz sweet vermouth, and 1/4 oz orange curacao, with a cherry being optional.
