Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Aged rum (6-10yr)
3/4 oz Rosso/sweet vermouth
3/4 oz Red bitter liqueur
2 dash Mole bitters

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist and/or orange slice wheel.

Method

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish

  1. 5 Express orange zest twist over cocktail and use as garnish, or discard and garnish with orange slice wheel.

History

This rum-based Negroni may make you wonder why gin Negronis were previously preferred. The Right Hand is usually served straight-up in a coupe but serving on-the-rocks in an old-fashioned glass is an alternative.

This is an adaptation of a recipe created between 2007 and 2008 by Michael McIlroy at Milk & Honey in New York City, USA.
