Ingredients

2 1/2 oz Vodka
1/4 oz Dry vermouth
1/4 oz Fino sherry
1/6 oz Caper brine

Serve in a martini glass

Method

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a MARTINI GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of large caperberry on pick.
  3. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

History

As the name suggests, fino sherry and caper brine add saltiness; this 'Salty Martini' also has a distinct nuttiness from the sherry. A long stir for generous dilution is suggested, and serving with grilled almonds.

Salvatore Calabrese devised this drink in 2009. He was working at Fifty in London, England, when he created it.
