Ingredients

1 1/3 oz Mezcal
2/3 oz Amaretto liqueur
1/6 oz Cynar/carciofo amaro
1/12 oz Banana liqueur

How to make

Serve in a shot glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a SHOT GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

Method

  1. 3 Makes 2 cocktails
  2. 4 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  3. 5 STRAIN into two chilled shot glasses.

Garnish

  1. 6 EXPRESS lemon zest twist over both glasses and discard.

History

A mezcal Godfather with amaro and crème de banana adding depth.

This recipe was adapted from one created in May 2021 by Daniele Umoette as a parting gift. He was inspired by Blondie's song "Maria," stating, "The other day I was listening to Blondie's "Maria" and it is indeed one of my favourite songs and that did the trick. The song talks about this multifaceted woman called Maria, so I tried to reinterpret her qualities through my personal imagination."
