Ingredients

2 oz Tennessee whiskey
2/3 oz Triple sec
2/3 oz Lemon juice
1/4 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

This is a variation on the classic 'Silent Third' cocktail, which was first published in the 1937 Cafe Royal Cocktail Book. While originally made with Scotch whisky, it might be less silent with rock 'n' roll Tennessee whiskey.
