History
Cognac-laced citrusy wine flavours evoke boozy, chilled mulled wine.
The Sir Charles Punch (Christmas) is adapted from the 1949 Esquire's Handbook For Hosts. It is prepared in a large tumbler filled halfway with shaved ice, to which one teaspoon of granulated sugar, one wineglass of port, half a glass of brandy, and half a glass of Curacao are added. The mixture is stirred well with a spoon and garnished with slices of orange, pineapple, and split grapes.
