Ingredients

1 2/3 oz Bourbon whiskey
5/6 oz Rosso/sweet vermouth
5/12 oz Apricot liqueur
5/12 oz Lemon juice
1/6 oz Grenadine syrup
2 dash Orange bitters

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

  1. 5 Garnish with maraschino cherry.

History

Vibrant in colour and flavour, with rich apricot and grenadine balanced by lemon freshness and charged with bourbon. Apricot, bourbon, and lemon are harmonious, enriched with grenadine.

This recipe is adapted from one created in 2021 by Susanna McMahon. She is a keen amateur mixologist and a 74-year-old grandmother who says, "This drink was created for those who think they do not like bourbon. The apricot brandy works magic on the bourbon, creating a most appealing drink. This is in honor of my in-law's fiftieth wedding anniversary."
