History
This sophisticated golden drink is dry, yet also honeyed and approachable.
This cocktail was adapted from a recipe discovered in 2006 at The Clift Hotel in San Francisco, USA. An initial recipe for this cocktail consisted of 60ml (2oz) Scotch whisky, 15ml (½oz) Drambuie, and 30ml (1oz) dry vermouth, which received positive feedback. However, its strength was noted, leading to a revision in June 2020. The updated version reduced the volume of each ingredient, slightly increased the liqueur ratio, and added a dash of water to aid dilution. Alternatively, the water can be omitted, and the drink served over ice.
