Ingredients

1 2/3 oz Cognac (brandy)
3/4 oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Crème de cassis
1/4 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

A Cognac sour balanced and flavoured with crème de cassis's rich blackcurrant notes.

This cocktail was adapted in January 2023 from the Three Hundred Poems cocktail, with a suggestion from Simon Stevenson's wife. The reformulation and naming of this collaborative cocktail were undertaken by the author.
