Ingredients

1 oz Tsipouro
1 oz Americano bianco
1 oz Gentian liqueur

How to make

Serve in a double old-fashioned

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a DOUBLE OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

A bittersweet aperitivo featuring the vinous notes of tsipouro and Americano with gentian's bitter herbal qualities.

Aggelos Demagos created this recipe at Unique bar & lounge in Poros Attica, Greece. It was one of ten winning recipes in the 2021 O/Purist Quest. Aggelos states, "the Canvas for my drink was the encouragement of my company to create a cocktail with O/Purist Tsipouro, combining some of the ingredients I had at home at that time. So, I created White Grape, a tsipouro-based Negroni Bianco."
