The Checker A11 Marathon Taxi, made from 1959 to 1982 by Checker Motors, is the quintessential American yellow cab, as famous as a London black taxi. The Yellow Cab cocktail, which Engine Gin promotes, is a tribute to the Marathon Taxi that Robert De Niro drove in Martin Scorsese's film, Taxi Driver. Engine Gin describes this cocktail as "a mash-up between a classic Margarita and Julio Bermejo's modern classic Tommy's Margarita."
