History

This spirituous, bittersweet aperitif recalls a White Negroni, yet uses tequila instead of gin.

Adapted from a 2017 recipe by Jason Simplot at Rumba in Seattle, USA. Jason's initial preparation used equal parts El Tesoro Platinum, Suze, and Carpano Bianco. Jason explains, "Essentially a white Rosita, created for a guest who wanted a tequila cocktail on the bitter side. Slightly spicy, kinda sweet and gentian-heavy. I thought I named this after a 'Modern Life Is War' song, one of my favorite punk bands, but upon a little research, they never titled a song with the aforementioned phrase. Which is too bad. It's fitting for not only their casse-toi brand of aggressive punk but also for this slightly aggressive and feisty cocktail."
