Ingredients

1 2/3 oz Passion fruit purée
1/3 oz Peach schnapps
1/3 oz Lemon juice
1/3 oz Orange juice
1 1/3 oz Blue curaçao liqueur
5/6 oz Vodka

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

  1. 1 SHAKE first 4 ingredients with ice and strain into glass filled with crushed ice
  2. 2 Separately, STIR vodka and blue curaçao with ice and strain over burnt-yellow layer in glass.

History

Made to resemble the colours of the Ukrainian flag, representing a blue sky over a field of wheat, a reflection of Ukraine being considered Europe's breadbasket. The sunflower, the Ukrainian national flower, means the flag also represents a blue sky over sunflowers.

This adaptation is based on a recipe created in March 2022 by Karol Terejlis, a bartender at Ognisko Restaurant at the Polish Club in South Kensington, London, in support of the Ukrainian people. Proceeds from the sale of this cocktail are contributed to the Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser. Karol's original recipe specified Kavka Polish vodka.
