Starting this off by saying I don’t like rye that much. That being said, this is one of the lore enjoyable ones I’ve tried. Nose is lighter spices nothing overpowering but pleasant. Palate is very smooth and doesn’t come across like limit ryes. Must be due to the sweet corn they use. Round and complex and good for a young rye. I use the rating scale below. Distiller uses a scale of 5 and I use a scale of 10, but I’m sure you’re not too drunk to do the math! 1. Disgusting - So bad I poured it out. 2. Poor - I wouldn't consume by choice. 3. Bad - Multiple flaws. 4. Below average - Not bad, but many things I'd rather have. 5. Good - Just average. 6. Very Good - Better than average. 7. Great - Well above average. 8. Excellent - In a league of its own. 9. Incredible - An all-time favorite. 10. Perfect

From the distillery tasting room in vail Batch 52 Warm rye spice on the nose 69% rye starts with a sweet bubble gum on the front pallet, some cinnamon starts to enter the picture, then dill and pepper on the back pallet. An exhale carries some chocolate notes, as well as pecan. Full bodied, amazing what they are able to achieve by blending a 1, 2, and 3 year old whiskey. Such an easy sipper
Stopped at the 10th Mountain tasting room at Vail Village after a day of skiing in March 2024. Liked the rye and bought a bottle in Frisco. Great stuff; initial impression confirmed and never regretted buying bottle. Not cheap though. Think it was maybe $60? (Summit County markup?)
It’s pretty good. It’s just way too thin. Could use a higher proof. 7% more alcohol and this might be a winner. I bought the cask strength “Birthday batch” at the distillery. Too bad there was only 200 bottles of it. My guess is that’s where it’s at. Someday, I’ll open it.
Straw color on the pour. Cinnamon on the nose. A bit thin in the mouth. Slight spice and burn at the end. Very drinkable. Cost indicative of the branding, doesn't hold up against say a Rittenhouse or a Russell rye but was worth a try.
At 86 proof, I found this to be nice easy drinking, but lacking the Rye spice punch I like in a rye. I get a nice sweetness with vanilla and a slight banana note on the finish
