Awesome Texas Bourbon from Lowry Crossing, 15 minutes from where I live. 1845 history is great! You need to come visit and hear it from the owner himself. From a pizza, burger and beer restaurant to a award winning Bourbon and Whiskey. Best in Texas and Best in America for their 2nd consecutive year. 1845 Preemption Texas Straight Bourbon is a mash bill of texan corn, rye and malted barley. Its their traditional boubon that is on pair to any traditional brand out there. Dark amber color, thick legs and creamy viscosity. One the nose - Vanilla forward with notes of a cream soda, birthday cake, then with traces of nuts, pecan pie, some cola as well. Various aromas as notes all over. Palate - The high ABV is not making it too hot. There’s some heat, but not too strong. It brings more pepper and cinnamon as it should, but the vanilla and cream soda are still there. Brown sugar is also present with the spices. Added water - it only dims a little the spices on palate, but the nose brings cherry pie. It’s very good and it doesn’t lose flavors when water is added. Overall a very good bourbon that can be compared to any big brand out there. People say it’s the most Kentucky of Texas bourbons. I say it brings Texas character to the best traditional boubons out there. You have to try it! Cheers!
