About this bottle
This annual release from Buffalo Trace honors 19th century distiller W.L. Weller, who is credited with being the first to use wheat instead of rye in the mash bill, thus pioneering the "wheated bourbon" phenomenon. This edition was distilled in the spring of 2003 and aged on the second and sixth floors of Warehouses I, K and L. At 134.6 proof, this is one of its most potent presentations.

My unicorn! Heat, heat, and more heat. Water opens it, and yummy chocolate, vanilla, and cherries come through. This is a beast for long slow sipping. @Zslug @OtisDB
Smells like applesauce. Hot hot hot And amazing. Pretty smooth middle, with more conspicuous fruitiness, in my opinion. Short finish. Delicious stuff.
Sweet vanilla caramel nose, smooth. Incredibly well balanced because of the proof, sweetness, and depth. Probably my favorite bourbon ever.
Really nice. Tasted with a few other heavy hitters and this was the least favorite. It’s got a great wheat flavor late in the palate
Thick, rich, and hot from the proof. Bold caramel, vanilla, with some cinnamon. $38 pour but probably worth it.
