The nose starts with charred oak, ripe fruit, brown sugar and faint hints of vanilla. There are some grassy notes mixed in along with the sweeter notes, but on further exploration it could just be grain. The palate is incredibly gentle with just the slightest kick of spice as it fills the mouth with charred oak, ripe fruit and grain. The whiskey quickly mellows out as charred oak in grain become the dominant notes on your second sip. The finish is medium with a slight bit of spice that leaves the mouth tingling as charred oak - which has become almost astringent now - quickly fades. This could use a little more aging to sort out the grassy and grainy notes. As otherwise, there is a lot of potential for this to be an incredibly flavorful whiskey.
