The rye definitely comes through with flying colors. The additional oak aging somewhat softens the spice, and adds a drier and more wood forward tonality. Butterscotch, light vanilla, caramel and dark rye toast flavors all play well together, melding into a solid whiskey. The finish is quite long, with a lot of wood coming out on the palate at the end. A definite sipping whiskey, it opens up into a softer version with some lighter baking spice notes when enjoyed with a large cube of ice. We look forward to trying Dixon’s upcoming releases.

Brown sugar, maple syrup on the front with a hint of candied pears. Then it is all oak. Gave it an ice cube to open it up, had some slight sweet flavors, fruit, and honey trying to eacape from behind the oak.
Nose of spicy oak with dark fruits and red apple. The palate is definitely rye. Barrel spices, pepper and more oak with a long but smooth finish. Unique and entertaining.
Sweet at beginning. Dry spice in middle with slight char flavor hanging on the palate. Very smooth
4.15 dry fruits and mild spice. Little steep in cost but definitely an enjoyable bottle
For me the sweetness is too slightwith a slight vanilla. More earthy and oak
