Aroma is, what I can only assume, is sugar cane. Its grassy without being herby, sweet without being sharp. It rolls around your nose. Ripe, thick, rich, & vegetal. Flavor is tart & smooth, sips easily. Finish is balanced and clean. Finishes with a quick burst of sugar cane before smoldering away. Honestly it's very easy to sip on with just an ice cube. Nothing is overwhelming or harsh. It's balanced, if not a bit mild. I don't want to say it because it IS a very balanced rum, but… it's almost boring.
Acadiana's Own Sweet Crude Rum
About this bottle
"Rank wildcat" is a term for a real longshot oil well, and the distiller has taken a leap of faith with the Sweet Crude made from Louisiana sugarcane ("as close to actual sugarcane juice as possible") in a process, utilizing "high-quality syrup and raw sugar", not tied to seasonal cane harvest. A handcrafted stainless and copper still called Lulu is responsible for the actual distillation. Note: This product is currently only available in Louisiana.
