AGUARDENTE DE CANA MAREJADA DO GROTÃO

According to Brazilian law, to be called "Cachaça", the distillate of fermented sugarcane juice must have an alcohol content between 38% and 48% and must not have any exogenous product added (only contact with wood is permitted). This distillate is within the legal limit of alcohol content, but the producer did not call his drink cachaça, but rather sugarcane spirit, which could suggest the addition of some exogenous ingredient to the distillate. It is a distilled drink without government registration or authorization. Marejada do Grotão is produced at Fazenda Grotão, in the municipality of Felixlândia, in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais. According to the label of this cachaça, the distilled drink is stored in oak and balsam barrels. Deep greenish yellow color, herbal notes, fennel, sweet and woody touch, medium-long finish.
