Named after the storing process of the peat blocks which are stacked to dry just prior to use. Stack is a peated whisky from the anCnoc distillery, which is usually known for its non-smoky expressions. This particular bottle has been aged in ex-bourbon casks for at least ten years (even though it's a non-age statement) with a phenol level of 20ppm making it the peatiest expression from anCnoc so far. Very attractive nose! Like a camp out on Islay. Burning piles of wet peat, milk chocolate, and crushed pink peppercorns. The palate is full of peat and chocolate. Though there's sparks of spearmint and creamy vanilla. I'm wanting a little more depth of the palate but the nose is very alluring. Definitely one of their better peated expressions.
