The nose starts with a mix of charred oak, ripe fruit, earthy rye and all reminds of you a dessert wine. Not much more to say than that, it is very harmonious and gives great anticipation for the first sip. The palate is full and oaky, with a distinct spiciness to it that fills the mouth. In the background, there some creamier notes of brown sugar and fruit, but the main profile here is the uniqueness of the oak. The flavor stays strong as it sits, maintaining the dominant notes of spicey oak. The finish is long and unique, this type of oak is vastly different, full of nuances that give you a different experience. Its almost as if you have qualities of Japanese single malt meeting bourbon.
About this bottle
Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Mizunara Oak is a release meant to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand's founding on August 19, 2010. On this day the brand filled its first port barrel with Kentucky straight bourbon to begin the finishing process. Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Mizunara Oak begins with a blend of 4 and 9 year-old Kentucky straight bourbon. That whiskey is then placed into select charred new Japanese Mizunara oak barrels for two years. Pre-orders are available for 500 Main members, the brand's fan club, as of August 19, 2020. Availability expands on September 1, 2020 at the Angel's Envy Distillery in downtown Louisville and select retailers in Kentucky. Only 1200 bottles were produced.

Very nice with notes of sandalwood and tropic fruits with a medium finish. I’d rather have the rye for a third of the cost.
Not worth the money. Over rated like the rye.
