Ardbeg 17 Year Committee Release

I am fairly new to the world of Scotch so I wanted to try one that from the Isley region. This is by far the most unique scotch expression i have tasted. Another observation is the color- it is light yellow vs the more traditional amber. The aroma has a very strong medicinal scent. However this quickly dissipates when it hits the mouth and i get a very smoky peat flavor complented with vanilla and honey. The finsh is exceptionally smooth

A wonderful re-release, generous but delicate, at 40% many will complain but, stronger doesn’t always mean better.
