About this bottle

Touched for the very first time, the American oak barrels utilized here were new, not used prior to the Auchentoshan distillate filling the barrel for maturation. First released in the winter of 2013, the whisky has been been bottled at a nice 92 proof to enhance the wood spice aromas. This is a limited release so get it while you can.

Gigiomix 4.3

Almost as good as 21 years old. On the nose, candied orange, caramel and dried fruit predominate, which are also confirmed on the palate with a hint of honey. Smooth like the best bourbons considering the aging process and the barrels used. Very long and sweet finish. Excellent drink, which confirms my highest esteem for triple distilled!

AnttiRG 4.0

A rich, Single Malt Scotch Whisky (also known as Glasgow's Malt Whisky) by Auchentoshan Distillery in Lowlands, Scotland 'employing a true full-time third distillation & it refuses to share it’s barrels with any other spirit or wine. It has a rich birth with notes of Creme’ Brûlée, vanilla, hints of apple & ginger; while a rich life adds notes of oak, cinnamon, butterscotch, & a hint of tart fruit (kiwi & green apple; that leads to a delicate & rich death with a hint of malt, pine & spice. April / August 2019 / July 2022

Joe C 3.0

A pleasant whisky that lacks complexity, with faint floral notes and always-welcomed honey. Oak is the true superstar here (lumberyard was the first thing that came to mind when I blind tasted this). It's medium-bodied, with a palate that really highlights both the honey and wooden aromas. The finish is spiced and somewhat medium in length. Enjoyable, but not essential for the avid whisky collector.

Batch no. 2. I love virgin / first fill oak and I've had a few great ones recently (yes I'm looking at you Tullibardine 'Murray'). This one starts of with the right notes but there is a bit of an off one which runs through it. 3.5 and at $120 USD here in NZ.

Jack Daniels. Honey. Berries. Candy. Maple. Vanilla. After water, tough to say. Smooth yet powerful.

melloman 4.3

Very sweet and carmelly. Quite nice finish. The 1 ice cube made it even smoother
