Do you remember the first time you took a pill? You might’ve had trouble swallowing it and it stuck on your tongue for a bit, well if you wanted to replicate the taste that still haunts your dreams then look no further because this rum has your back. While the rum is smooth, probably it’s only saving grace, it’s taste makes it almost undrinkable when sipped on its own. After adding water a light smokey flavor poked its head through, only to be beaten into submission and shamed for considering itself to be welcome by the earlier pill taste. Probably one of my longer reviews but I had to warn you good people. Hopefully the other ages Bacardi releases are better.

Just came back from Puerto Rica where we toured Casa Bacardi. I think the expectation of this four-year rum is that it should be a nice, aged sipper. That certainly was not Bacardi's intent, as explained to us. This is the next step up from Blanco in the improving of mixed drinks. C'mon, it's $20. What were you hoping for?
quite fine, but I'll pick Bacardi Carta Negra over it in the future. The latter is smoother, sweeter and 2 times cheaper
Tastes good by itself, good rum flavor, not much of an alcohol aftertaste. A must for great tasting tiki cocktails!
slight medicinal nose, a bit of cane an Carmel medicinal/sweet somewhat unpleasant taste
Not as smooth as the other aged Bacardis, underlying fruit flavors
