Suprisingly un-rough for what’s basically a way to get ethanol in ya. Flavor-wise there’s more going on than you’d think at this proof. You’ll get some caramel, molasses, tobacco notes. Not a sipper (duh) but it’ll get a cocktail running on all 8 cylinders or bring a pleasant but low ABV sipping rum up to par.
Don Q 151 Rum
About this bottle
To coincide with the 150th anniversary of Destilería Serrallés, Don Q relaunched its 151 rum, which had been discontinued for several years. This addition to the Don Q product line is notable for being only the second overproof rum released by a Puerto Rican distillery. The Don Q 151 is a blend of light and dark rums aged a minimum of three years in used American oak barrels.

Easy on the nose with dried bananas and coffee aromas. Quite sweet taste with chocolate and dried fruit flavors. Finish is smooth vanilla on the throat, coffee, tobbaco in the mouth.
Très violent, un arôme sympa, pour rehausser un mojito par exemple
Bright, fruity palate contrasts with heavy Demerara 151s. Tingly.
Great for mixing.
