This whiskey from Bardstown Bourbon Co. was made in collaboration with Napa Valley winemaker Carter Cellars. It was made with a custom blend of mature bourbon and rye whiskey that was then further aged in freshly-dumped Carter Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels for an additional 14 months. There are approximately 225 9L cases available of this Collaborative Series release. Good finished whiskey but not there best. I will say the finish causes the bourbon to have a medicine like cherry flavor which kind of turns me off. The finish is nice, gives oak and chocolate notes. I recommend getting a pour of this but i would pay 150 for this bottle.
Smooth, slight sweet. Not complex.
