This is the 12th release in the Discovery Series which highlights the art of blending. Here the brand blended four different Kentucky straight bourbon whiskies together, each with a different mash bill. The bulk (48%) of the blend was aged 14 years followed by two 10 year-olds (29% and 15%, respectively), and a 6 year-old four grain bourbon (8%) which was distilled at BBCo. Deep and fruity, with a foundation of rich oak. Medium mouthfeel, but with a nice long and consistent finish from the oak and age. The finish is the most pleasant aspect of this whiskey. The longer it sits in the glass, the more the palette opens up with pleasant red and orchard fruits. Initially tart and green fruit transitions to ripe and stewed red apple and plum.
Nose: dark red fruit, fig, rich, rollo candy Pallet: very long finish, lingers on tongue, dark fruit carries over, dark caramel, light char One of the best whiskeys of the year! Very fruit forward and rich. The finish stays for an extended time and there is no harshness. The longer this bottle is open, the better it gets.

A bit hot neat. Opens up and tastes much better after 2 drops of water in a 1 oz pour.
