Wow is this stuff smooth!! I was expecting it to be much hotter because of the ABV but not the case at all. That being said, I do prefer full proof bourbons but this one blew my mind. Not only is it ultra smooth but it is packed with flavor. I bought myself this batch and batch 21 for my brother as a gift, glad I did so I can try both. I will being trying more of these for sure!

Nose is apple, cherry and pecan pies cooling in a charred sawmill overgrown by mint. Tongue delivers the promised flavors with a thick, oily mouthfeel and some bonus orange, cola and vanilla. Spicy sawdust, peanuts and a mildly medicinal spearmint linger on the finish. Not the most complex batch but its a tribute to Barrell there’s still plenty going on.

The nose constantly changes; going from cherries and figs to vanilla and honey, a hint of molasses, then brown sugar and maple candies. On the palate, orange peel followed by nougat and caramel, vanilla ice cream. Finish has notes of whipped cream and cream soda. This batch is a gem.

Aroma radiates of cookie dough and honey baked ham. Vanilla and toffee follow. On the palate is a lovely array of cookie dough ice cream, drizzled in vanilla icing with oak and Graham crackers on the finish. A wonderful tasting experience.

Cherries, vanilla, and oak on the nose. Orange peel and oaky mouthfeel that mellows with butterscotch on the back end for this pour. A hint of vanilla frosting with the wood on the finish.
