This is specifically for Batch 9, 124.16 proof, so do with that what you will. N: Caramel and cinnamon. If there is a red wine note here, it may be disguised as oak. The port may be coming across as a general sweet note. The nose is really nice, but this is one of those whiskeys where the palate is way better than the preview on the nose would lead you to believe and I really like this nose! P: I get a warm toasted marshmallow note that I really haven't found in any other whiskey. I think it's just a perfect melding of the rum, port, and cab finishing. It isn't overly sweet, it is just dialed in exactly where I need it to be. F: The warm toasted marshmallow just hangs out on your tongue. Once I tasted this, it became a specific note that I'll hunt in other whiskeys. I'd highly recommend picking this one up. The Seagrass (fairly) garners tons of praise, but Dovetail is right there with it. If I have a day in the matter, this will always be on my shelf.

Picked this up on Friday, glad I did! Really good pour! Cheers to everyone and hope you have an awesome 4th of July! Smells like apricot and fruity, with some char. A little spicy on the tongue, but after a sip, I immediately want another. Pick up a bottle!

If this were 80 proof I’d give it a 3.75. The fact that it’s a 124, I can appreciate how some complexities are still there. Given the finishing, I feel it would’ve been better with a lower abv, but it’s a solid supper

Earthy butterscotch on the nose. Molasses, burnt sugar and grape must on the palate. Spice finish. Rich. Pushing a 4.75

Definitely on the sweeter side, but the barrel aging hides the high octane on this one. Very smooth
